I started Control Freak Public Relations shortly before moving to New York City in 2010. While living in NYC, I edited press releases, helped advise start-ups on blogging, and wrote freelance stories for online publications, all under the Control Freak umbrella. In December of 2011, my breast cancer returned, and I took a break from work for treatment. My newest venture is Look Closer, which started in Sept. 2014, is a non-profit business serving women in Winston-Salem, N.C. Look Closer delivers gift bags of skin care and beauty products to women with breast cancer. I am also an independent Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics.
