I am Ronda Bumgardner Carter and I am grateful you stopped by. I have spent my life immersed in communications. First in advertising, working at agencies in North Carolina and Florida. Later, in publications, working as a writer and editor for magazines. And then, nine years as a news columnist, first at a local newspaper and then in a weekly syndicated column called “Straight Answers.” I was the direct problem solver for thousands of readers, and used my media powers for fighting evil. I took a side trip to the world of banking and technology, and had an inside view of the customer disregard that has given banks a reputation they deserve.
I started Control Freak Public Relations shortly before moving to New York City in 2010. While living in NYC, I edited press releases, helped advise start-ups on blogging, and wrote freelance stories for online publications, all under the Control Freak umbrella. In December of 2011, my breast cancer returned, and I took a break from work for treatment. My newest venture is A Closer Look, which I started in 2014. A Closer Look is a 501(c)3 non-profit serving women in Winston-Salem, N.C. I hand-deliver gift bags of skin care and beauty products to women with breast cancer.

Rhonda,
Loved the What We Believe Frost Bank insert in the ABJ. I visited McGarrah Jessee’s site, but they didn’t claim it, so I Googled till I found you.
